There are plenty of ways you can get involved in the coast whilst having fun at the same time. Take a look below for some ideas.....
Litter on the beach is horrible, it doesn’t look very nice, it’s dangerous and it can harm wildlife. The litter comes from all over the world and from many different sources including fishing, shipping, sewage related waste from our sinks and toilets and much of it is even left by beach visitors!
If you love going to the beach but hate all the litter why not adopt your favourite stretch of coast and help look after it. Everyone will know that you look after it and that you help to keep that beach clean.
All you need to do is take part in beach cleans either once a year or every 4 months which ever you prefer, to make sure your much-loved beach is kept spick and span. Your favourite stretch of coast doesn’t need to be a sandy beach-all types of coast can be adopted, whether it be a sandy or stony beach, rocky shores, coves or estuaries; as long as it is at the coast!
To help you adopt your beach we can provide;-
We have loads of beaches in this area needing adopted so if you would like to find out more then please get in touch. Clean ups can range from one person to over fifty, they all make a difference. Or why not get your whole class or school involved-ask your teacher. Schools can receive a free marine litter education pack and school talk.
