Adopt a Beach

The East Grampian Coastal Partnership has teamed up with the Marine Conservation Society to promote the Adopt a beach initiative in the area between Fraserburgh to St Cyrus.

Any one can take part in Adopt a Beach which involves ‘adopting’ your favourite stretch of coast and taking part in annual or quarterlBeach Cleany beach cleans to ensure your much-loved beach is kept spick and span. Your favourite stretch of coast doesn’t need to be a sandy beach-all types of coast can be adopted, whether it be a sandy or stony beach, rocky shores, coves or estuaries; as long as it is at the coast!  For more information please see the adopt a beach website www.adoptabeach.org.uk

To help we can provide;-

  • A marine litter talk to explain why beach litter is such an important issue
  • Training for Adopt-a- Beach organisers
  • Free skips and equipment loan
  • Help with publicity
  • Insurance for official clean ups

If your organisation, whether it be a club, community council or company would like to find out more then please get in touch. Clean ups can range from one person to over fifty, they all make a difference.

Schools

Schools can receive a free marine litter education pack and school talk.
